Titanium hex head bolts are the most common external-drive titanium fastener — the workhorse of corrosion-resistant assembly in chemical, marine, aerospace and general industrial applications. Unlike socket head cap screws (internal Allen drive), hex bolts use an external wrench to turn a larger, thicker head that sits directly on the mating surface — no countersink required. Two thread configurations are in common use: DIN 933 fully threaded along the entire shank length, and DIN 931 partially threaded with a smooth unthreaded shank under the head for bearing or shear applications.

Feinuotai supplies both DIN 933 and DIN 931 variants in Grade 2 CP titanium and Grade 5 Ti-6Al-4V alloy. Common metric sizes from M3 through M48 coordinated.

Product Range & Specifications

DIN 933 (fully threaded) & DIN 931 (partially threaded) commonly referenced — confirm variant at inquiry.

H

Head Type

Six-sided external hex head. Head width and height per DIN standard.

D

Drive Type

External wrench drive (13 mm for M8, 19 mm for M12, etc. per DIN 933 / 931).

TH

Thread Forms

DIN 933: fully threaded. DIN 931: partially threaded with smooth shank. Metric coarse & fine pitch.

M

Metric Dimensions

Standard Range: M3–M48 (DIN 933 / 931). Lengths per DIN series.
Custom Supply: Cut-to-length, non-standard head dimensions, special thread pitches.
Stock Availability: M5–M16 common lengths in Gr2 & Gr5.

G

Grade Options

Regular: Grade 2 (CP Ti) & Grade 5 (Ti-6Al-4V alloy).
Coordinated: Grade 1, Grade 7, Grade 9, Grade 23 — subject to order quantity and manufacturing review.
Note: Titanium fastener strength grades are not equivalent to steel property classes (8.8 / 10.9 / 12.9). Mechanical properties depend on grade, part geometry, thread engagement and heat treatment — confirm against your specification.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between DIN 933 and DIN 931?

DIN 933: fully threaded along the entire shank length — used where thread engagement is needed through the full joint thickness, or when the bolt passes through a tapped hole in one member.
DIN 931: partially threaded with an unthreaded smooth shank under the head — used for bearing / shear applications where the smooth shank carries the shear load, or when the joint requires clamping through clearance holes.

Should I pair a Grade 2 or Grade 5 hex bolt with a titanium hex nut?

For critical load-bearing assemblies, matching the bolt and nut grade (Grade 5 bolt with Grade 5 nut) is recommended. For non-critical joints, a Grade 2 nut can pair with a Grade 5 bolt, reducing joint capacity to the Grade 2 nut strength. Always specify nut grade together with bolt grade.

How is titanium hex bolt strength specified?

Titanium fastener strength is determined by material grade and part geometry, not the steel "class" system (8.8, 10.9, 12.9). These steel numbers refer to minimum tensile / yield strength values that do not have direct titanium equivalents. Actual properties for a given titanium hex bolt depend on grade, diameter, thread pitch, thread engagement length and manufacturing route — please specify your design requirements.
