Dimensionally Stable Anodes (DSA) combining a titanium substrate with a mixed-metal oxide (MMO) coating, with the coating specification confirmed per order — for chlorine production, water treatment, electroplating and other electrochemical processes.
Five coated-anode product lines — each page covers coating composition, typical application and Feinuotai's supply capability.

Ruthenium oxide MMO coated titanium anodes — the primary coated anode product line for chlorine, water treatment and general electrochemical use.
Iridium oxide MMO coated titanium anodes — stable in oxygen-evolving environments and high-anodic-potential processes.
Platinum metal coated titanium anodes — thin or thick platinum layer applied to titanium substrate for specialty electrochemical processes.
β-PbO₂ (lead dioxide) electrodeposited onto titanium — high-voltage, long-life anodes for wastewater treatment and electrosynthesis.
Palladium or palladium-based alloy coated titanium anodes for specialized electrochemical processes requiring specific electrocatalytic properties.
Coated titanium anodes, also known as Dimensionally Stable Anodes (DSA), combine the excellent corrosion resistance of a titanium core with the electrocatalytic activity of an MMO (mixed metal oxide) coating. Feinuotai manufactures finished MMO-coated titanium anodes in-house — from titanium substrate preparation through surface treatment, MMO coating application and final connection — with coating specification, anode configuration, dimensions and operating requirements reviewed per order against the application and project requirements. The default substrate material is Grade 1 commercially pure titanium; other substrate grades are evaluated per project requirements.
Anode substrate geometries — plates, sheets, rods, tubes and woven mesh — are first manufactured as standard titanium semi-finished products, then cleaned and surface-roughened (typically by grit blasting) before the MMO coating is applied. The coating specification is confirmed per order with the customer, based on the operating environment (electrolyte composition, pH, current density, temperature) and the project requirements.
Note on scope: Feinuotai manufactures MMO-coated titanium anodes in-house, including substrate preparation (default Grade 1 CP titanium), surface treatment and MMO coating application. Specific substrate grades, coating specifications, anode structures and operating parameters are confirmed per project with the customer based on the electrochemical environment. Finished anodes are manufactured to project requirements; finished-anode stock is not held.
A coated titanium anode consists of a titanium substrate (typically Grade 1 or 2, conforming to ASTM B265) with an electrocatalytically active coating applied to the working surface. The substrate shape — plate, mesh, tube, rod or custom geometry — is selected according to the cell design and current-density requirements.
Feinuotai distinguishes between coating systems produced in our own MMO manufacturing facility and those supplied through external coating partners. Both are supplied and supported; the distinction is important for lead time, certification and technical support.
| Coating System | Type | Manufacturing Source | Primary Applications |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ruthenium-Based MMO (RuO₂) | Mixed Metal Oxide | In-House MMO Coating Facility | Chlor-alkali, water treatment, general electrochemical processing — primary coated anode product line |
| Iridium-Based MMO (IrO₂) | Mixed Metal Oxide | In-House MMO Coating Facility | Oxygen-evolving environments, high-anodic-potential processes, wastewater electrolysis |
| Platinum-Coated Titanium | Metal Coating | Available — Pt coating applied externally (not Feinuotai's own MMO line) | Specialty electrochemical processes requiring platinum electrocatalysis; thin and thick Pt layers available |
| Lead Dioxide Coated (β-PbO₂) | Oxide Coating | Externally Sourced — supplied through Feinuotai's coating partners | High-voltage, long-life anodes for wastewater treatment and electrosynthesis |
| Palladium-Coated | Metal Coating | Externally Sourced — supplied through Feinuotai's coating partners | Specialized electrochemical processes requiring specific electrocatalytic properties |
Feinuotai produces titanium anode substrates in five standard geometries and supplies fully coated assemblies. Custom drawing-based anode geometries are coordinated per inquiry.
Solid titanium plate substrates — available in Grade 1 and Grade 2; typically 2–10 mm thick.
Woven or expanded titanium mesh — lower weight and higher active surface area per unit volume.
Cylindrical substrates for applications requiring uniform radial current distribution.
Basket, strip, wire and fully custom geometries produced to DWG / STEP drawings.
Anode substrates, coating selection, substrate shape, lead configuration and mounting details are all specified per cell design. For drawing-based or custom anode requirements, you may share your drawings with our sales team by email or WhatsApp after initial contact.
Note: Do not specify coating thickness, lifetime or electrical performance parameters without reference to your specific application — these must be validated against your actual operating conditions.
Brine electrolysis cells using MMO-coated titanium anodes as the standard DSA technology.
Electrochemical disinfection, wastewater treatment and electro-oxidation processes.
Insoluble MMO-coated anodes for hard chrome plating, copper plating and other bath technologies.
Anodes in electrowinning and metal-recovery cells operating in corrosive electrolytes.
The default substrate is Grade 1 commercially pure titanium. Other substrate grades are evaluated per project requirements.
No. Finished anodes are manufactured to project requirements — finished-anode stock is not held. Substrate preparation, surface treatment and MMO coating are carried out in-house per order.
Please describe the anode geometry, the electrolyte or process environment, current density and operating temperature. The coating specification is then confirmed per order against these conditions.
Ru-based MMO and Ir-based MMO are produced on Feinuotai's own MMO coating line. Platinum-coated titanium anodes are available through external Pt coating. Lead dioxide and palladium coatings are supplied through Feinuotai's coating partners — not produced on-site.
Grade 1 or Grade 2 titanium, conforming to ASTM B265. Grade 1 is more ductile and preferred for formed substrates; Grade 2 is more corrosion-resistant and common for most electrochemical processes.
