Titanium foil rolled to ultra-thin gauges — from 0.01 mm up to 0.8 mm and beyond — for laminates, protective barriers, specialty chemical components and electrical parts. Thickness, width, grade and quantity confirmed against your requirement.
Product Overview — Titanium foil is rolled flat titanium product supplied in very light gauges. It is used where a thin titanium layer is needed — protective barriers, laminates, specialty chemical components, thin-wall formed parts and electrical / electronic applications. Because foil is a distinct product form from standard plate and sheet, the thickness, width and supply conditions are reviewed separately and not carried over from plate or sheet stock.
Long-form note for procurement: Foil is a specialist product — its production requires tighter rolling tolerances, careful handling during winding, and can be more sensitive to material lot cleanliness than heavier gauge plate. When sourcing foil, buyers often have to specify thickness to two decimal places (or three decimal places at the ultra-thin end), width tolerance, edge condition, and whether the foil will be supplied in coil or cut-to-length form. Feinuotai reviews all of these together in each inquiry.
Titanium Foil 0.01 mm – 0.2 mm is NOT covered by ASTM B265.
ASTM B265 / B265M governs titanium and titanium alloy strip, sheet and plate with nominal thickness from 0.2 mm through 200 mm. Ultra-thin titanium foil in the 0.01 mm to 0.2 mm range falls below the standard's lower thickness limit and therefore is not subject to ASTM B265 requirements.
For foil at 0.2 mm and above, applicability is reviewed against the actual thickness, product form and the technical requirements agreed per order. The appropriate standard — whether ASTM B265 or another applicable specification — is confirmed at inquiry time.
Do not assume all titanium foil falls under ASTM B265. When specifying foil in an inquiry, please state the thickness so we can confirm the correct standard and supply condition.
Foil grade and supply are reviewed separately from plate and sheet.
Grade 1, 2, 3, 4 (commercially pure titanium), Grade 5 (Ti-6Al-4V), Grade 7, 9, 11, 12, 16, 17 and Grade 23 (Ti-6Al-4V ELI). Grade feasibility at each thickness is evaluated per inquiry.
Regular foil stock is limited — grades and thicknesses held in regular foil stock are confirmed at inquiry time. A grade held in plate or sheet stock is not necessarily held in foil form.
Grade 3, 11, 16 and 17 are evaluated per inquiry — they are not part of the standard foil stock programme. Ultra-thin foil production is more sensitive to material cleanliness, so grade and thickness are always reviewed together.
Supply form: foil is supplied as cut sheets or coils, per order. Edge condition (slit edge, round edge) and surface finish (mill, pickled) are specified in the inquiry. Please also state the intended application where this helps with grade and thickness discussion.
Thin titanium layers for laminated and clad structures where corrosion resistance is needed without full plate thickness.
Light-gauge foil for barrier and separation layers in multi-material assemblies.
Components where a thin corrosion-resistant titanium surface is required.
Thin titanium sheet used in small electrical and electronic parts.
Titanium foil from 0.01 mm to 0.2 mm is not covered by ASTM B265. That standard applies to flat rolled titanium from 0.2 mm through 200 mm nominal thickness. For foil at 0.2 mm and above, applicability is reviewed against the actual thickness, product form and order requirements. Please state the exact thickness when inquiring so we can confirm the correct standard.
Typical titanium foil thickness range is 0.01 mm up to 0.8 mm and above. Feasibility at the ultra-thin end and at the upper end is evaluated per inquiry — production of 0.01 mm foil is more sensitive to material lot cleanliness than heavier gauge material.
Feinuotai supports Grade 1, 2, 3, 4 (CP titanium), Grade 5 (Ti-6Al-4V), Grade 7, 9, 11, 12, 16, 17 and Grade 23 (Ti-6Al-4V ELI). Grade and thickness are evaluated together — not every grade can be produced at every thickness, and grades held in plate or sheet stock are not automatically held in foil form.
Yes — the intended application helps confirm whether the thickness and grade you are specifying are appropriate, and whether the supply form (coil vs. cut sheet) is practical for your downstream process.
Tell us the required thickness (in mm), width, grade, quantity and whether you need coil or cut sheet form — we will confirm standard applicability and supply conditions together.
